Meet Adam Mandell,

Founder of Legal Ally

Adam Mandell is the founder of Legal Ally, a law firm dedicated to protecting the rights of children, families, and workers harmed by bullying, harassment, and discrimination. Adam is recognized as one of the top attorneys in anti-bullying litigation and recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as part of the top 5% of attorneys nationwide.

Before founding Legal Ally, Adam spent 15 years representing and defending schools in cases involving bullying, harassment, and discrimination. During this time, he witnessed stark differences in how school districts addressed these critical issues. While some schools made earnest efforts to protect their students, others clung to outdated mindsets—dismissing bullying as “boys will be boys” or blaming victims for being “too sensitive.” These harmful attitudes often left children vulnerable to continued harm, even when intervention was possible.

One pivotal case solidified Adam’s decision to shift his focus to advocating for victims. He was defending a school with a serious history of unchecked bullying. While negotiating a settlement, the father of a bullied student expressed that his primary concern was ensuring other children wouldn’t endure the same suffering. Taking this to heart, Adam negotiated for the school’s administrators to undergo additional bullying prevention training as part of the settlement. This moment reinforced his belief that meaningful change is possible—and that he could make a difference by holding schools accountable for their failures. From this experience, the idea of Legal Ally was born.

Having immersed himself in anti-bullying representation, Adam's commitment to combating bullying is exemplified by completing the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) training—a program mandated by the New York State Education Department for educators. This comprehensive course focuses on preventing and addressing harassment, bullying, cyberbullying, and discrimination in schools. With this training, Adam has gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by students and the responsibilities of educational institutions in fostering a safe and inclusive environment. His dedication extends beyond personal education; he has also consulted with schools on conducting DASA investigations, ensuring compliance with legal standards and promoting effective anti-bullying policies. Adam's unwavering commitment to advocating for bullying victims and holding institutions accountable is second to none.

Adam’s anti-bullying legal portfolio spans a wide range of cases, including negligent supervision, discrimination based on race, gender identity, or disability, sexual harassment and assault, and cyberbullying. His insider knowledge from defending schools enables him to build stronger cases for his clients, pinpointing the evidence and vulnerabilities that schools and their insurers fear most. As a seasoned litigator, Adam is prepared to take cases to trial when necessary, ensuring his clients receive the justice and compensation they deserve.

In addition to his legal practice, Adam brings extensive experience in public policy and advocacy. He served as a Congressional Aide and District Counsel for U.S. Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA), deepening his understanding of civil rights and community issues. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Western New England University School of Law, teaching courses on Civil Litigation and Medical Malpractice.

Adam’s dedication to community involvement is reflected in his leadership roles, including:

  • Board Member and Officer of RUPCO, a not-for-profit affordable housing and community development organization.

  • Board Member of the Ulster County (NY) Bar Association.

  • Delegate, New York State Bar Association.

  • Former member of the Committee for Character and Fitness for the Third Judicial District.

As a trained participant in the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) workshop—a requirement for New York State educators—Adam shares the same training teachers receive to recognize, intervene, and prevent bullying. This unique perspective equips him to hold schools accountable effectively and advocate for lasting change.

Adam lives in the Catskills, NY, with his wife, two sons, and their dogs. Committed to creating safer environments for children, he remains deeply involved in his community through nonprofit work, advocacy, and his mission to ensure no child suffers the devastating impacts of bullying.

Meet Jessica A. Rounds:

Your Employment Law Attorney Who Uses Her Corporate Defense Experience to Fight for Employees' Rights

Jessica A. Rounds isn’t your typical employment law attorney. After spending nearly a decade defending large insurance companies, Jessica’s experience as a corporate defense litigator now gives her a unique edge when fighting for employees. She’s one of the rare attorneys who knows both sides of the courtroom—having spent years learning the strategies that corporations use to protect themselves, Jessica now uses that knowledge to fight for the people who need it most.

Jessica’s decision to switch sides and represent plaintiffs wasn’t taken lightly. While working as a defense litigator, she found herself growing disillusioned with the corporate world, tired of defending wealthy companies while they continued to undermine employees. Her passion shifted toward protecting individuals who feel voiceless in the legal system—those who never imagined they’d have a chance to stand up against their employers. That’s why she became an attorney: to make a real difference in people’s lives.

As the head of LegalAlly.com’s Employment Law division, Jessica is dedicated to helping employees fight discrimination, harassment, wage theft, retaliation, and more.
